Malcolm Kirby Jr. is a Los Angeles based producer/composer/musician. Known for his extremely diverse musical taste and genre bending compositions, as well as a strong affinity for abstract textures and a heavily beat driven aesthetic, Malcolm is equally at home creating epic electronic sonic landscapes in the studio as he is laying down virtuoso bass lines on stage. 

Malcolm has composed music for film such as Don JonThe Love Guru, Cop Out, Brooklyn's Finest and television shows CSI, Training Day, Numb3rs, Pimp My Ride, Medium, Law and Order and video games such as Agents of Mayhem, Saints Row: The Third, Saints Row IV, LawBreakers, NBA Street Homecourt, Don King's Prizefighter. As a co-founder of 456inc., he has done work for Fox TV, ESPN, VH1, Warner Brothers, Paramount Pictures, MTV, CBS and many others.

As a professional musician he has performed and recorded with many great musicians such as Fred Wesley, Lenny Castro, Kenny Wolleson, Tommy Campbell, The Respect Sextet, Marcus Printup, Shelly Berg, Steve Gadd, John Medeski, The Campbell Brothers, Terrence Howard, Ben Monder, Bernard Purdie, Will Bernard, Satoshi Takeishi, Sonny Landreth.

He has performed all over the world including: North Sea Jazz Festival, Lincoln Center NYC, The Kennedy Center, San Sebastian Jazz Festival, Carnegie Hall, The Blue Note NYC, Osaka Blues, Roskilde Music Festival, New Orleans Jazz Festival, The Bimhuis, Milano Jazz, Finland, Moers Festiva, Stockholm Jazz Festival, Barbados, Martinique, Paris, Hungary, Hawaii, Africa.
